Rafa Benitez Has One Eye On Real Madrid Jobby Jack Kitson / 20 February 2013, 11:15Tweet
Rafa Benitez is reportedly eager to become the new Real Madrid manager when his short-term contract at Chelsea expires at the end of the season. The under-fire Spaniard enjoyed a successful three years with Madrid's La Liga rivals Valencia, where he won two LA Liga titles and a UEFA Cup.
Benitez has dismally failed to win over the fans at Stamford Bridge and will almost certainly depart at the end of the season, if not before, with the 52-year-old priced at 8/1 (Sky Bet) in the Premier League Sack Race.
The current Madrid boss, Jose Mourinho, is consistently being linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this upcoming summer, with former club Chelsea touted as his top target. If the rumours are true then Mourinho will be keen to go out on a high and win the Champions League with a third club, following his exploits with Porto and Inter Milan. Madrid face Man Utd at Old Trafford in the decisive second-leg in two weeks, with the Spanish giants the narrow 4/5 favourites to qualify.
PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti is currently the 5/1 favourite with Sky Bet in the Next Real Madrid Manager Market. Meanwhile Germany manager Joachim Low is next in the running at 13/2, with Benitez priced at 8/1. Elsewhere the under-pressure Arsenal gaffer, Arsene Wenger, could be worth a punt at 12/1.
