Brown on the Brink after Tigers lose againby Mick Bates / 20 October 2009, 07:40Tweet
Hull City boss Phil Brown overtook Paul Hart in the betting to become the next Premier League manager to be sacked on Tuesday morning following his side's 2-0 defeat to Fulham on Monday night. The result means that The Tigers have have won just twice this season and a more horrifying statistic of just three wins in 30 Premiers League game dating back to that infamous incident against Manchester City on Boxing Day last season when he gave his half time team talk on the pitch after being 4-0 down at the break.
It remains to be seen how much longer City chairman, Paul Duffen, is willing to give Brown but the exit door is now wide open at the KC Stadium and it's a more a question of when rather than if. If Brown is going to defy the odds then the next four games are going to be crucial, all against fellow relegation candidates. Anything less than three points against Portsmouth at home on Saturday could be enough for the axe to fall but with games against Burnley, Stoke and West Ham to follow, the 5/2 on offer with Victor Chandler about Brown being the next Premiership boss to leave his post could yield a quick return on investment for backers.
