Craig Levein Set For Scotland Post

Craig Levein is set to be offered the role of Scotland Manager offer the next few days as the SFA look to get their man in place as soon as possible, Levein has been the bookies favourite for the job ever since George Burley was sacked in November after the 3-0 defeat to Wales. Levein has been doing an excellent job at Dundee United for the past couple of years and those exploits have alerted the SFA who are looking for a new man to guide the team through the tricky waters of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.
It is understood that Levein is due to meet the SFA in the next couple of days to thrash out terms and conditions, also on the agenda will be the compensation that will need to be paid to Dundee United for Levein's services. Levein has made no secret of his desire to talk to the SFA and as long as his concerns over the lack of matches can be addressed it looks almost certain that he will take up his office at Hampden Park. One potential delay to the deal could be the Christmas period which may mean that conformation may come after the Festive season or into the New Year, either way it looks as though it will be Levein who will be trying to get Scotland to their first Major tournament since 1998 and he will be hoping for a kind draw for Euro 2012 when it takes place in February.
