Betting suspended on Gareth Southgate becoming the next England managerby Jack Kitson / 21 November 2016, 11:28Tweet
Bookmakers Sky Bet have suspended betting on Gareth Southgate becoming the next permanent manager of England.
Southgate has been in interim charge of The Three Lions since Sam Allardyce's shock departure back in September, winning two and drawing two of his four matches at the helm.
Southgate is being interviewed for the post today (Monday) by a five man team from the Football Association - including chairman Greg Clarke and chief executive Martin Glenn - and baring a shock u-turn an official appointment is expected within the next 7 to 10 days.
According to the Daily Telegraph Southgate will put pen to paper and sign a whopping four-year deal with England, worth £1million a year.
Southgate's only previous positions in the managerial arena have been with Middlesbrough and then England under-21s, with the 46-year-old vacating his role in charge of the latter should he, as expected, bag the England job.
