Lee Clark On The Brink Of Joining Birmingham

Lee Clark is on the brink of becoming the new Birmingham City boss following a successful first set of talks with the club. The former Huddersfield Town manager is today expected to meet with the club for a second interview and if all goes accordingly then the job is his. Clark is currently the odds-on favourite in the Next Birmingham City Manager Market and is expected to be officially appointed within the next few days.
Birmingham have been on the hunt for a new manager since early June when Chris Hughton left for Premier League side Norwich City. The Blues finished fourth last season but agonisingly lost out to Blackpool in the dreaded play-offs. The club’s owners expect the team to once again finish in the top six and be pushing for an automatic promotion spot come the end of the season. It now looks like Clark will be the man to lead this charge and get the club back playing in the Premier League. However, he will have his work cut out with a host of quality sides vying for a top six finish.
Birmingham kick-off the 2012/13 Championship campaign at home to newly promoted Charlton, who won League One last season. Bet365 have Birmingham priced at 14/1 to win the league and 9/2 to get promoted.
