Is Garry Monk set to switch Leeds for Middlesbrough?

Leeds United boss Garry Monk has emerged as the surprise favourite to become the next Middlesbrough manager.
Monk had been hovering around the 10/1 mark in the Next Middlesbrough Manager Market, but on Sunday his odds were shredded down to just 8/11, and today (Monday) he’s even shorter at 1/2 (Sky Bet) to switch Championship dugouts.
Monk took charge of Leeds last summer on a one-year deal, but despite an excellent season, the club agonisingly missed out on a top-6 finish.
The 38-year-old was then widely expected to sign a new deal with the Whites but negotiations have seemingly been on hold until co-owner Andrea Radrizzani takes full control of the club, which is expected to occur before the end of the month.
However, this delay could well backfire on Leeds, and Middlesbrough could well be the beneficiaries of this, if reports are to be believed.
Boro axed Aitor Karanka in March, with caretaker boss Steve Agnew handed the reins for the remaining 11 games of the season. Agnew won only one of those matches as Boro suffered an instant return down to the Championship, joining Leeds next season.
Agnew is a 14/1 outsider to be handed the post on a permanent basis, while former favourite Ryan Giggs has drifted to 6/1, with former Boro defender Nigel Pearson now at 8/1.
