Is it last chance saloon for Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew?by Jack Kitson / 22 November 2016, 11:01Tweet
Alan Pardew could become the next victim of the Premier League Sack Race if Crystal Palace suffer their sixth successive defeat this weekend.
The Sun are reporting that the club’s board are on the verge of pulling the trigger following a woeful run of five straight losses which has seen Palace plummet down to 16th in the table - just one point above the relegation zone.
Palace enjoyed a bright start to the season but their form since October has been utterly atrocious, while their statistics for 2016 are extremely bleak.
The struggling south London outfit have the worst points-per-game record of all 92 teams in the top-4 tiers this year, registering a minuscule 0.71 in 2016.
On Saturday Pardew takes his troops over to Wales where they lock horns with fellow strugglers Swansea in a crunch clash at the Liberty Stadium, which pits together two of the favourites in the top flight’s Sack Race.
The rock-bottom Swans are without a victory since the start of the season, while their under-fire boss Bob Bradley - who is the frontrunner in the queue for the exit door - has just two points from five games at the helm.
Both gaffers are walking the managerial tightrope and if either boss was to lose this weekend then they could be toast.
According to The Sun Palace are already eyeing up the likes of former England manager Sam Allardyce and ex-Palace defender Chris Coleman, although there are currently no odds available for this market.
