Phil Neville rules himself out of contention for the Bury job

Phil Neville remains the favourite for the Bury job...despite ruling himself out of the running for the League One vacancy.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live Neville, 39, emphatically said: "I will not be manager of Bury I can assure you that", which should have put an end to speculation linking him with the post vacated by David Flitcroft last week.
However, Neville can still be found as the evens favourite (Sky Bet), ahead of the likes of former Rochdale boss Steve Eyre, Shakers caretaker Chris Brass, Neville's former Man Utd teammate Ryan Giggs, and Karl Robinson, although the latter is as short as 1/10 to become the next Charlton manager.
Bury sacked Flitcroft a week ago following an 11-game winless run, which included seven successive third-tier defeats, which has since been extended to nine league losses for the first time in their history.
Bury's shocking losing streak, which came after six wins on the spin, means they have freefalled down to 19th - just two points above the relegation zone.
