Tony Pulis feeling the heat at West Brom after shock cup exitby Jack Kitson / 24 August 2016, 09:33Tweet
The future of West Brom boss Tony Pulis has been the subject of debate in recent weeks, and Tuesday night's shock defeat to League One outfit Northampton Town certainly hasn't done him any favours.
The Cobblers booted the Baggies out of the EFL Cup, winning 4-3 on penalties after the teams couldn't be separated after 120 minutes.
In the aftermath of the club's exit from the competition Pulis said (from the Express & Star):
I understand supporters, full stop. If you're not winning, they're not going to be happy, whether it's me or some other manager. That's the nature of the game, supporters pay their money and they have the right to say.
The defeat comes a few days after the Midlands club lost out to Everton in the league, and while Pulis is by no means set for the sack, there is, however, a splattering of irritation on the terraces ahead of Sunday's clash at home to the in-form new boys Middlesbrough.
Pulis remains at 7/2 with the majority of bookmakers in the Premier League Sack Race, however expect these odds to drop should his troops falter this weekend.
