Steve Kean Odds-On Favourite To Be Sackedby Mick Bates / 24 October 2011, 09:45Tweet
Pressure is mounting on Steve Kean following Blackburn's 2-1 defeat at home to Tottenham on Sunday. The defeat - their sixth of the season - leaves Rovers rock-bottom of the Premier League with just five points from their opening nine matches. Kean's odds have now been cut to 10/11 with Paddy Power as he becomes the odds-on favourite in the Next Premier League Manager To Be Sacked Betting.
Banners, signs and placards were scattered around Ewood Park yesterday as disgruntled supporters expressed their view of Rovers' poor start to the season. It was the third successive home game that the fans have called for Kean to be sacked, with many staging a sit-in protest at the final whistle. In 30 matches in charge of Blackburn Kean has won just six with just the solo league win against Arsenal this season.
The club's trip to India during the international break in early October, although oddly timed, was believed to have been a success, with the owners giving their backing to Kean. However, football management is a cut-throat business and if Blackburn's disappointing results continue then the Scot will surely be on his way out. They play in-form Newcastle in the Carling Cup on Wednesday followed by a trip to Norwich City in their next league game on Saturday 29th October which could prove to be Kean's last in charge if Blackburn slump to yet another defeat. Mark Hughes has been installed as the 11/8 favourite in the Next Blackburn Manager Betting.
