Andy Scott Appointed New Aldershot Managerby Sean Raymond / 25 February 2013, 14:29Tweet
Former Brentford Manager, Andy Scott, has been appointed as the new Aldershot Manager following the sacking of Dean Holdsworth. The Shots gave Holdsworth the boot last week following a poor run of form and Scott has been tasked with turning the fortunes of the Club around. It will be a tough task for the new man though with Aldershot sitting in 20th place in League Two at the moment.
Andy Scott built up a good reputation in the lower leagues during a near four year stint at Brentford which saw him guide the Bees to the League Two title. That will be music to the ears of Aldershot fans who will be hoping they can make a bid for promotion next season with the new man at the helm. That is of course assuming that Aldershot can stay in the league this season with just four points separating themselves and the relegation zone at the moment.
Andy Scott certainly seemed to have a positive affect on the form of the team on Saturday with Aldershot claiming a solid 2-0 win at home to Fleetwood. It was a much needed win for the side and Scott will be hoping that the team can now make a push towards mid-table between now and the end of the season in May. Previously Scott had been out of work since March 2012 when he was sacked as Rotherham Manager after less than a year in charge. That was certainly a bump in the road for Scott but he has more than enough experience at this level to make a really good impression on the fans down at Aldershot.
