Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already feeling the heat at Cardiff Cityby Jack Kitson / 25 February 2014, 09:56Tweet
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was certainly under no illusions about the difficult nature of the Cardiff City job, however even the permanently upbeat Norwegian will be crushed at results so far. Since taking charge last month Solskjaer has struggled to turn things around having lost five of his seven Premier League games at the helm, including a devastating 4-0 defeat at home to Hull last weekend, which left his struggling troops just one point off bottom, and three adrift of safety.
An outraged Solskjaer was left fuming after the game and quickly made the decision to scrap the club's scheduled warm-weather training in Abu Dhabi. With nine games remaining he decided that a few sun-soaked days was not the right preparation for his out-of-form side, with the 19th-placed Bluebirds desperately needing to pick up points.
Poor results along with Vincent Tan's unpredictable and short-tempered nature means Solskjaer is already feeling the pressure. The Man Utd legend is remarkably now the second favourite in the Premier League Sack Race, with Sky Bet handing him odds of 6/1, behind frontrunner Chris Hughton.
Solskjaer will no doubt be given time to adjust and he will demand a reaction away to Tottenham on Sunday. However, a defeat at White Hart Lane, followed by a loss at home to relegation rivals Fulham a week later would pile on the pressure, and leave Solskjaer’s future at the Welsh club in doubt.
