Guus Hiddink Favourite For Chelsea Job

After the harsh and rather abrupt sacking of Carlo Ancelotti on Sunday, the Chelsea juggernaut is now on the prowl for a new manager, and Guus Hiddink is the man bleeping vigorously on their all encompassing radar. The Dutchman is one of the most renown and respected managers on the planet and his capture would be seen as a huge accomplishment for the club. Victor Chandler currently have Hiddink as the 6/4 favourite in the Next Chelsea Manager Betting Odds.
Hiddink was a favourite with both the fans and importantly the owner Roman Abramovich during his brief spell in charge as caretaker manager in 2009. The tactical mastermind guided the club to FA Cup glory before departing at the end of the season to continue his job as manager of the Russian national team. The main, and what could prove to be decisive factor preventing the 64-year-old from becoming the next Chelsea manager, is his loyalty. Hiddink is reportedly determined to honour his contract with Turkey, and in hindsight his availability depends on their success in their Euro 2012 campaign.
Hiddink's reluctance to leave his position as Turkey boss, although refreshingly loyal, will no doubt anger Abramovich who is believed to be desperate to secure his services. This could therefore open the door to the current Ajax manager and former Netherlands boss Marco van Basten (11/4) who has also been hotly tipped to take over at Stamford Bridge. As has the heavily touted Porto boss Andre Villas Boas (6/1), who shot to prominence in the football world this season after winning the treble with the Portuguese club. More recently there have been murmurings that Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is being lined up to replace Ancelotti. The 64-year-old has impressed during his time at Spurs and you can find him at odds of 11/2 with Victor Chandler.
