Glenn Hoddle linked with Nottingham Forestby Jack Kitson / 26 March 2014, 09:44Tweet
Glenn Hoddle has become the latest manager to be linked with the Nottingham Forest vacancy, with the former England boss replacing Gianfranco Zola at the top of the betting. Back in December the 56-year-old reportedly came extremely close to a returning to Tottenham, but in the end lost out to Tim Sherwood, however he could now be in line to pick up the pieces at struggling Forest.
Bookmakers Bet Victor have Hoddle priced at 4/5 in the Next Nottingham Forest Manager Betting, whereas Zola has drifted to 5/1. Reds owner Fawaz Al Hasawi is believed to be keen to meet both men to discuss the position, with the club in desperate need of a change in fortune following a rotten run which has seen them slip out of the top-6. Other names in contention include former player Stuart Pearce, who has expressed his interest, Leonardo Jardim and Malky Mackay.
The Championship club sacked Billy Davies on Monday, before falling to a late defeat at home to lowly Charlton a day later, which extended their woeful winless run to nine games in all competitions. Forest remain two points adrift of the play-offs with eight matches remaining. Next up on Saturday is a tricky trip to in-form Ipswich, who they are locked on 57 points with.
