Andre Villas-Boas Set To Land Tottenham Job

Following weeks of speculation it now appears that Andre Villas-Boas is finally poised to land the prized Tottenham job. The former Chelsea manager has been the odds-on favourite in the Next Tottenham Manager Betting for seemingly an age but the club’s reported interest in France boss Laurent Blanc seemed to have stalled matters. However, reports are now emerging that AVB is set to take over at White Hart lane at the start of July, with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy handing him a three-year deal.
AVB’s reputation was tainted at Chelsea and he is determined to prove himself in the Premier League. The Portuguese coach made a huge impact at Porto, winning the triple in 2011. If, as expected, he is named as Harry Redknapp’s successor, then he will be expected to lead his new side to a top four finish. Spurs finished fourth last season but were unfortunate to lose out on a Champions League spot as London rivals Chelsea went on to win the competition, and as a result snatched the final qualification place.
Meanwhile Blanc remains second in the running for the Spurs vacancy with odds in the region of 8/1. David Moyes now seems to have drifted completely out of contention, as has Fabio Capello due to his extortionate wage demands. Other reports have linked Didier Deschamps to Spurs, with the Marseille boss available at 25/1 with Paddy Power.
