Ronny Deila on the ropes after Celtic crash out of Europe

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has come under fire after his troops crashed out of Europe (again).
The Scottish giants failed to hold onto a 1-0 lead at home to Europa League Group AÂ rivals Ajax, losing 2-1, leaving the club rock-bottom with just two points from five matches, meaning their final match away to Fenerbahce is a dead rubber.
After seeing their European dreams die the Hoops will now have to focus on domestic football. Unsurprisingly Deila's men sit top of the table with 36 points from 30 matches, losing just once so far this term. As a result the Parkhead outfit are now as short as 1/100 to go on, as expected, and win their fifth SPL title on the spin.
Meanwhile, the Bhoys have a Scottish League Cup semi-final to look forward to - against Ross County - in January, while their FA Cup campaign will kick-off earlier that month.

However, domestic dominance is the minimal requirement for Celtic these days, meaning European football is of the essence. The fact that it's only November and the SPL side have dropped out of both the Champions League and Europa League is a bitter blow for everyone associated with the club.
Boss Deila will no doubt come under scrutiny following the club's latest Europa League heartache. Simply put, Celtic weren't good enough, failing to win any of their five matches (to date) is a rotten return for a side who should really be progressing through to the knockout stages.
Deila should be safe, for now, but if Celtic start to slip up in the league, or if they crash out of either cup competition, then his future in Scotland will be thrust back into the limelight.
