Lee Clark New Favourite To Succeed Sven At Leicester City

Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark has been installed as the new favourite in the Next Leicester City Manager Betting after former manager Martin O'Neill ruled out a magical return to the club he guided to two League Cups. City sacked Sven Goran Eriksson on Monday following the club's below-par start to the season. Leicester may only be two points off the play-off spots but their Thai owners, King Power, have very high expectations and feel that the club should be right up there at the top so therefore decided to act quickly and axe Sven.
O'Neill was reportedly very interested in a return to the club but after careful consideration he decided it wasn't a risk worth taking as he didn't want to spoil what he achieved during his five-year spell as manager. O'Neill was very much the popular choice and his withdrawal leaves the betting wide open, with Lee Clark the 6/4 favourite. The Huddersfield manager has enjoyed a remarkable run with the West Yorkshire club who are currently undefeated in 40 matches, the fourth longest unbeaten league streak in English football history. Due to this magnificent record and with The Terriers currently sitting second in League One the 39-year-old is likely to need some persuading to leave and is believed to be totally committed to the club.
Other options include the out-of-work Mark Hughes who is available at 7/2 in the betting. Hughes surprisingly resigned from Fulham in June and has been waiting for the right opportunity to get back into management and Leicester's owners no doubt have the drive and ambition that matches the Welshman's. O'Neill can still be found with odds of 6/1 but realistically he is very unlikely to join unless the owners can manage to persuade his mind. Other names in the running include Billy Davies at 13/2 and Dave Jones at 16/1.
