Derby County Sack Nigel Clough

Following today's (Saturday) 1-0 defeat by arch rivals Nottingham Forest, Nigel Clough has been sacked as manager of Championship side Derby County.
A club statement from County read "After much consideration, the board feel it is time to move Derby County forward to the next level, The club would also like to take this opportunity to wish Nigel Clough well"
Clough had been with Country since January 2009 and was the fourth longest serving manager in the Football League.
The loss today for Derby was third defeat in a space of eight days for the club, following defeats in the League Cup to rivals Leicester and a loss in the Championship last weekend to Reading. The club are placed 14th in the Championship table on 11 points from nine games.
Names in the mix to be named the successor to Clough include former Stoke manager Tony Pulis as well as Steve McClaren and Alex McLeish.
