Barnsley Sack Keith Hill

Barnsley have become the third Championship club since Boxing Day to sack their manager after axing Keith Hill following their 3-1 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers. The miserable loss means the club finish 2012 rock-bottom of the league and four points adrift of safety.

Hill took charge of the Tykes back in May 2011, with the club narrowly avoiding relegation. The 2012/13 season has been even worse with Barnsley winning just one of their last 13 games. The defeat to Rovers was their seventh at home this season and leaves the club searching for their fourth manager since 2009. The latest odds will appear on this page - Next Barnsley Manager Odds - so keep checking back for updates.
Hill's departure comes three days after Sean O'Driscoll's shock sacking at Nottingham Forest and just two days after Blackburn Rovers surprisingly gave Henning Berg the boot. The Championship is a notoriously difficult league and this is the time of year in which owners make big decisions in an attempt to save their respective teams from relegation or propel them up the league into a play-off spot.
