Rafa Benitez Under Pressure At Chelsea After Three Gamesby Sean Raymond / 03 December 2012, 15:02Tweet
Rafa Benitez has only been in charge of Chelsea for three games but already the Spaniard is facing up to a barrage of criticism. The former Liverpool Manager has not been popular with the Chelsea fans since day one but after the Blues lost at West Ham over the weekend his position is already looking insecure.
Chelsea took the lead at the weekend against West Ham but they crumbled in the second half to go down 3-1 to the dismay of Benitez and the Blues fans. That performance followed two bore 0-0 draws at home to leave Chelsea trailing in the title race and on the edge of elimination from the Champions League this week. Qualification for the last 16 of the Champions League is now out of their hands and even a win this week may not be enough for them to escape the group despite the club winning the trophy last season.
Benitez has come under pressure for his style of play and with the Chelsea fans itching to get rid of him it may only be a matter of time before the Spaniard is shown the door. At the moment he has a contract until the end of the season following the bizarre sacking of Roberto Di Matteo and all eyes will be Roman Abramovich once again over the coming weeks and months.
The market for the Next Chelsea Manager Betting continues to be one of the most active and popular of the season with most still expecting Pep Guardiola to be approached in the Summer. It remains unclear though whether the former Barca man will want work in such an unstable environment with former Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho lurking in the wings and understood to be leaving his job at Real Madrid in the Summer.
