West Ham bid to lure Sevilla boss Unai Emery to Upton Park

West Ham could land a major managerial coup if they can persuade Unai Emery to take charge at Upton Park. The Sevilla boss is set to leave the Europa League champions after an impressive two-and-a-half seasons in the south of Spain, and is now set to choose between the Hammers and managerless Napoli, with whom he has already held talks with.
According to reports Emery is set to travel to London this week, with the Iron prepared to offer the Spaniard a bumper deal, believed to be more than the lb2.5million-a-year offered by Napoli, plus a whopping bonus should he miraculously lead the Iron into the Champions League.
The 43-year-old is currently as short as evens (Bet Victor) in the Next West Ham Manager Market, although Coral have the former Valencia boss priced at 3/1.
During his time in charge of Sevilla Emery has won widespread praise for leading the club to back-to-back Europa League triumphs, with last week's thrilling 3-2 victory over Dnipro in the Final ensuring that the La Liga side will play Champions League football next term.
One potential stumbling block is Emery's minimal English, however Mauricio Pochettino arrived at Southampton in the same boat, before going on to thrive at the south coast club, learning the language along the way.
Former Hammers player Slaven Bilic remains the frontrunner for the post with many bookmakers, and can currently be backed at a best-priced 13/8 with Ladbrokes. Meanwhile, the Iron have held talks with Marseille boss, who is available at 8/1 with Sky Bet.
