Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale surprise new favourite for MK Dons jobby Jack Kitson / 03 May 2018, 16:01Tweet
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale has been propelled to the top of the Next MK Dons Manager Market.
The Football League’s longest-serving boss has been in charge of the Grecians since the hazy days of 2006...but could his 12-year tenure at St James Park come to an end this summer?
Tisdale, aka English football’s best dressed gaffer, is currently attempting to lead Exeter back up to League One - after a six-year absence - with the club assured of a play-off place, given that they are six points clear of 8th spot with one game of the standard season remaining.
With this in mind it’s difficult to see Tisdale and MK Dons opening up any sort of negotiations for a couple of weeks, at the very least.
MK Dons’ relegation down to League Two was confirmed last weekend following a 2-0 defeat at home to Scunthorpe.
The Dons sacked Robbie Neilson in January while his successor, rookie boss Dan Micciche, lasted less than three months at the helm. Keith Millen was subsequently been placed in charge until the end of the season.
Tisdale’s sudden presence at the top of the next manager market comes out the blue, and it will be interesting to see if there’s any substance behind it.
Elsewhere, former Scunthorpe manager Graham Alexander is available at 6/1, ahead of Grant McCann and Steve Cotterill, who are priced at 12/1 and 16/1 respectively.
