Felix Magath running out of time at Fulham

Felix Magath is confident he will remain in the Fulham dugout next season, despite reports to the contrary. Back in February the distinctive German surprisingly became the club's third manager of what has been a horrific campaign, after replacing the sacked Rene Meulensteen. However, the former Bayern Munich boss has failed to inspire a turnaround at Craven Cottage, winning just one of his six games at the helm, and registering only four points during that run.
As a result the Cottages remain rooted to the foot of the table, and five points adrift of safety with just six matches remaining. They are the hot 1/7 favourites to suffer the dreaded drop, not only because of their dire form (one win in 12), but the fact that nearly all their rivals have a game(s) in hand.
Fulham have the most favourable of run-ins, although it is difficult to see the club suddenly picking up a flurry of wins, with Magath stating that they need to win four more games to have a chance of staying up. On Saturday they travel to Aston Villa in desperate need of three points, while their remaining home games come against Norwich City, Hull City and Crystal Palace, with matches at Tottenham and Stoke sandwiched in between.
If, as many are expecting, the London club are subsequently relegated from the top-flight for the first time since winning promotion in 2001, then Magath's future will be in severe doubt. The 60-year-old has only been at the helm for six matches but his strict methods have been called into question, with players reportedly unhappy with his approach. The under-fire boss could therefore be worth taking advantage of at 20/1 in the Premier League Sack Race, while Alan Curbishley can be found at 12/1 in the Next Fulham Manager Market.
