Leeds United in advanced talks with Marcelo Bielsa while Gustavo Munua enters the betting

Leeds United look to be edging closer to completing one of the biggest managerial coups of the summer after Sky Sports revealed that Marcelo Bielsa is in advanced talks with the Championship club.
The Whites sacked Paul Heckingbottom on Friday after only 16 games in the job, amid reports that they were eager to lure Bielsa over to Elland Road.
The former Argentina and Chile boss has since been glued to the summit of the Next Leeds Manager Market, ahead of the likes of Claudio Ranieri, Mick McCarthy and Steve Bruce...while Zinedine Zidane is a 66/1 shot.
However, one name that has just entered the frame is the former Uruguay international goalkeeper Gustavo Munua, priced at 15/2, who has opted not to renew his contract with Deportivo's B side.
Back to Bielsa - Leeds chiefs have jetted over to his homeland, Argentina, in order to negotiate a deal, although there could be a delay as the 62-year-old has to apply for a work permit, which may take some time to secure as in the last five years he’s only managed for a total of 23 months (Leeds Live).
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Leeds waited until 1st June to axe Heckingbottom in order to save some dosh, as the Yorkshire club would have had to pay him £1m in compensation, as opposed to £500,000.
The 40-year-old has since emerged as the favourite to take charge of Bradford, which would be his third Yorkshire job in the space of four months, while he’s out at 14/1 to return to former club Barnsley, who sacked his replacement Jose Morais after they were relegated down to League One.
