Chris Hughton under fire at Norwich after heavy defeatby Jack Kitson / 04 November 2013, 09:33Tweet
Chris Hughton's odds continue to tumble in the Premier League Sack Race after Norwich suffered yet another defeat at the weekend. The Canaries were thrashed 7-0 by Manchester City, leaving them stuck in the relegation zone and one point adrift of safety. The devastating defeat has subsequently piled the pressure on Hughton who can now be found at just 9/4 (Sky Bet) to become the third top-flight casualty of the season.
The manner of Saturday’s hammering at the Etihad has come as a huge wake-up call, with the result coming days after they were thumped 4-0 by Man Utd in the Capital One Cup. The defeat means that the Norfolk club have now picked up just one point from their last four games, with only two wins from 10 this season.
In truth the Norwich have endured a tricky run of fixtures having played Chelsea, Arsenal and both Manchester clubs in the last month. However, they will now be expected to get results in their upcoming series of matches against the likes of West Ham, Newcastle and Crystal Palace. If not, then Hughton will be in real danger of losing his job, with Malky Mackay the favourite in the Next Norwich City Manager Betting.
