Paul Tisdale remains favourite for Swindon Town jobby Jack Kitson / 05 August 2013, 09:24Tweet
Paul Tisdale remains the favourite to become the Next Swindon Town Manager. Bookmakers suspended betting last week following a series of substantial bets on the Exeter boss taking over at the County Ground. However, despite Sky Bet re-opening the market - with Tisdale the evens favourite - the Robins do not appear to be any close to naming a successor for Kevin MacDonald, who left in mid- July after just five months.
Swindon revealed last week that assistant manager Mark Cooper would be in charge for the start of the season until they found a replacement for MacDonald. However, the 44-year-old failed to boost his chances of landing the job on a permanent basis after Swindon went down 1-0 to Peterborough. However, Robins chairman Jed McCrory is still reportedly considering Cooper who is available at 5/2 in the betting.
Meanwhile Tisdale led Exeter to a 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers in League Two. The popular 40-year-old is currently the longest standing manager in the Football League, having been in charge of the Grecians since 2006, during which he has overseen two promotions, whilst also suffering a relegation. Tisdale can be found at 10/1 in the League One Sack Race, which looks a decent price if rumours linking him with the Swindon job are to be believed.
