Plymouth Argyle in talks with Brian McDermottby Jack Kitson / 05 June 2015, 11:06Tweet
The Next Plymouth Argyle Manager Market has sprung into life following the news that Brian McDermott has emerged as a serious contender for the vacancy. The former Reading boss, who was most recently in charge of Leeds, is now available at just 7/2 (Bet Victor), behind frontrunner Graham Coughlan, and Neil Warnock.
According to reports Plymouth have contacted McDermott about becoming the club's new manager. The 54-year-old is currently working as a scout at Arsenal, but is believed to be keen to return to the managerial arena. The former Exeter City has previously managed the likes of Reading, Woking, Slough Town, and most recently Leeds, with whom he left at the end of the 2013/14 season.
McDermott can be backed at a best priced 9/2 (Sky Bet) to go on and replace John Sheridan, who departed the south coast club last month following their League Two play-off defeat to Wycombe. Meanwhile, Warnock is gathering steam at 4/1, although it's the out-of-contract Southend United coach Coughlan who still leads the way at the summit at 5/4.
