Watford name Quique Sanchez Flores as their new Head Coach

Watford have appointed Quique Sanchez Flores as their new Head Coach, on a two-year deal at Vicarage Road. The Hornets couldn't agree on a new contract with boss Slavisa Jokanovic, who led the club up to the Premier League last season, and opted to replace him in the dugout with Flores, a former manager of Atletico Madrid.
Watford were unwilling to meet Jokanovic's wage demands, with the Serb requesting a lb2.5m basic salary. As a result the club have looked elsewhere for a new head coach to lead their Premier League charge next season.
As expected, Flores has been the man tasked with the job. The 50-year-old, who becomes the club's fifth boss in the last year, has an impressive resume, having previously managed the likes of Atletico Madrid, their capital rivals Real (youth team), plus Valencia, Benfica and most recently Getafe.
Flores led Atletico to Europa League glory in 2010, winning the Taca da liga with Benfica a year before, while he has also enjoyed success in the Middle East with Al Ahli and Al Ain. However, his main task at Watford next term is to keep them in the top-flight, with the club priced at 6/5 (Sky Bet) to avoid the dreaded drop back down to the Championship.
