Mike Phelan odds-on favourite to succeed Neil Adams at Norwich City

Norwich City caretaker boss Mike Phelan has emerged as the red-hot 4/9 favourite (Sky Bet) to replace Neil Adams at Carrow Road. Adams handed in his resignation on Monday after just nine months at the helm, with Phelan taking over the first team while the club searches for a new boss. However, if the Next Norwich City Manager Market is anything to go by then their man is right under their nose, while the likes of Tim Sherwood and Karl Robinson are some way back in the betting.
Phelan only joined Norwich (as a first team coach) at the end of November, but he could now already be on the verge of bagging his first job in the management arena. The 52-year-old, who made over 150 appearances for the Canaries as a player, famously spent five hugely successful years as Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant at Old Trafford, during which he helped Man Utd win three Premier League title wins, a Club World Cup and two League Cups.
Phelan has a chance to prove his credentials at Norwich on Saturday when he oversees a somewhat daunting fixture away to Championship leaders Bournemouth, who are unbeaten in a whopping 14 league games, 11 of which they have won. The Cherries have unsurprisingly been installed as the favourites (evens) to come out on top once again, while Betfred have priced Phelan's troops at 13/5 to stun the table-toppers and return to Norfolk with all the spoils.
