Martin O'Neill Voted November's Naffest Gaffer

Sack Race readers have selected under-fire Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill as November's Naffest Gaffer, with a staggering 77% of the vote. The Ulsterman has been placed under the unrelenting glow of the media spotlight following his side’s failure to win matches, with their sole November victory against 10-man Fulham. The north east side are now in real danger of becoming embroiled in a relegation scrap and the fixtures simply don’t get any easier, with an extremely testing Christmas period on the horizon.
Meanwhile the other two contenders for the unsavoury award - Newcastle’s Alan Pardew and Sheffield Wednesday’s Dave Jones - each received 11.5%. The Toon Army failed to win any of their seven matches in November, suffering disappointing home defeats to West Brom and Swansea, while they were beaten by Southampton and Stoke on the road.
Sheff Wed boss Dave Jones endured another miserable month, with his side losing five consecutive matches. The Championship side face relegation-rivals Bristol City and Barnsley in December, and the results of those fixtures will determine whether Jones lasts it through to the New Year.
We would once again like to thank all those that voted on our Facebook page: facebook.com/thesackrace and we look forward to hearing your comments and opinions on who should be nominated for December’s Naffest Gaffer award.
