Upcoming Matches Will Determine Martin O'Neill's Future At Sunderland

Sunderland and Martin O'Neill face a pivotal run of matches starting from this weekend’s visit of Chelsea. It has been well documented that the struggling club have scraped just two wins from their last 22 games - a truly torrid run that has piled the pressure on O'Neill.
The Ulsterman is currently the 2/1 favourite in the Premier League Sack Race and the next month will decide whether he stays or goes. The Black Cats face Chelsea at home on Saturday and then relegation-rivals Reading on Tuesday. On the 15th they have the daunting task of playing Man Utd at Old Trafford, before a potentially huge clash with fellow strugglers Southampton at St Mary's on the 22nd.
On Boxing Day defending Premier League champions Man City make the trip up to the north east, with Tottenham following three days later. Then, on the 2nd of January, O'Neill's men travel to Anfield where they will try attempt to upset Liverpool.
This pivotal run of fixtures will determine O'Neill’s future as he bids to transform his side's fortunes and propel them up the table. As things currently stand Stan James have O'Neill priced at 11/10 to not be in charge on the last day of the season, while Sunderland can be found at 3/1 to get relegated.
