Wolves Sack Dean Saundersby Jack Kitson / 07 May 2013, 10:47Tweet
Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked Dean Saunders following their relegation down to League One. The struggling Midlands club are in freefall at the moment having also suffered the dreaded drop at the end of the 2011/12 campaign. Big changes are needed at Molineux if they are going to bounce back next season but the club have said they will take their time over recruiting a new manager.
Saunders only picked up the reins in January after Stale Solbakken had been axed. However, the former Doncaster Rovers boss was unable to work his magic at the Midlands club, with Saturday's final day defeat to Brighton sending them down to the third tier. The Welshman now leaves having won just five of his 20 matches in charge.
Wolves are now looking for their fourth manager since sacking Mick McCarthy in February 2012. They have endured a miserable time on and off the pitch since then, with Terry Connor, Solbakken and now Saunders all failing to make an impression.
The Next Wolves Manager Odds have typically extremely close at this stage with Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson, Owen Coyle and Micky Adams all featuring at the top of the betting. Meanwhile the likes of Danny Wilson and Karl Robinson are also in the mix.
