Protests Continue Against Under Fire Steve Keanby Mark Cohen / 07 November 2011, 10:53Tweet
It is surely now only a matter of time until Blackburn Rovers' Indian owners give Steve Kean the boot. The Scot has now been in charge of the club charge for 32 games, with half of them ending in defeat. Many believed that Kean was lucky to hold onto his job at the end of the previous campaign after Rovers narrowly avoided relegation, and with results having shown no signs of improving this season, Kean is walking a fine line. Blackburn haven't won in the league since 17th September, with the 4-3 victory against a disheveled Arsenal side their only win this season. You can see why some supporters are frustrated. The club banned protests against Kean during Saturday's defeat at home to Chelsea but that didn't stop some fans from finding a way to express their dissaproval, as at one point during the match a plane flew over Ewood Parl displaying the simple massage 'Steve Kean Out'.
Kean remains the odds-on 8/11 favourite in the Next Premier League Manager To be Sacked betting market. In order to stay he will have to get the fans back on his side. Playing at Ewood Park is supposed to be an advantage not a hindrance, with the uncertain atmopshere certainly not inspiring the players. After the international break Rovers have a crunch match against relegation rivals Wigan Athletic who sit one point below them. Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is also under pressure with his side on an eight game losing streak. Paddy Power have Wigan as the 13/10 favourites to put a hault to their woeful run and win their second match of the season, while Rovers have been handed odds of 15/8 to come away with a valuable three points. Due to the poor form of both teams a draw may be the way to go at 11/5.
Former Rovers boss Mark Hughes is currently the favourite to take over if Kean is sacked. Other names that are featured in the Next Blackburn Rovers Manager betting include Rafa Benitez, Martin O'Neill and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
