Nigel Pearson and Bob Bradley join Sam Allardyce in the race to become the new Sunderland managerby Jack Kitson / 07 October 2015, 09:36Tweet
Sam Allardyce has been joined by Nigel Pearson and Bob Bradley at the top of the Next Sunderland Manager Market, while the likes of Sean Dyche, David Moyes and the unemployed Brendan Rodgers have all drifted in the betting.
Big Sam to become a Mackem?
Allardyce, 9/4 Bet Victor, has been bang in contention since Dick Advocaat fled the Stadium of Light on Sunday, although reports differ as to whether he is actually keen on taking charge of the Black Cats.
Some reports indicate that Big Sam is keen to make his managerial comeback with the north east outfit, while others claim the former Newcastle gaffer simply isn't interested in the vacancy, preferring to wait for a new post to arise.
An ostrich has been spotted in Sunderland...
Allardyce now has company at the summit, with Nigel Pearson now available at 3/1. The former Foxes manager saved his former club from the drop last season, and this experience makes him a tempting option, given Sunderland's current struggles.
Pearson is desperate to return to the dugout and his availability means he is a real contender for the job, although whether he is Ellis Short's number one target is unlikely.
Bob Bradley bounces into the betting
Bob Bradley has also stormed into the frame. The former USA coach is as short as 6/4 with Betfair, although other bookmakers have him priced at 9/2. Bradley is currently working in Norway with Stabaek, but would no doubt jump at the chance to work in the Premier League.
