Zola Sack Odds Remain Short as West Ham Struggleby Richard Smith / 08 December 2009, 15:12Tweet
Gianfranco Zola remains under pressure at West Ham this week as the Hammers continue to struggle this season and looking set for a season long relegation battle over the next few months, Zola had a good first season in charge at Upton Park finishing in mid-table but this campaign is proving much tougher for the little Italian. The Hammers have endured a tough season so far and Zola is fighting to keep the club away from the relegation but he could do nothing to prevent the team losing 4-0 at the weekend to a patched up Man United team that was fielding a third string defence.
One of the problems for Zola is that the team are hugely inconsistent and are leaking goals at an alarming rate having conceded 10 in the last three games which will be a worry for West Ham fans as the season progresses, that is coupled with the fact that star striker Carlton Cole is now out until the New Year and things are looking bleak for the Gaffer.Paddy Powerhave been closely following the Next Premier League Manager to be Sacked Betting all season and they are clearly worried about Zola's future at Upton Park according to their latest odds. Although he is by no means the favourite to be next out of the door he is hovering around the 10/1 mark which means they believe a couple of bad results in-a-row and Zola could well find himself in trouble with the board and fans.
West Ham face a couple of crucial Premier League fixtures before Christmas with two away matches that could go a long way to deciding the future of Zola as well as the teams fortunes for the rest of the season, the Hammers go to Birmingham on Saturday before going to the Reebok Stadium on the 15th December in a huge relegation battle. West Ham fans will be expecting and hoping that both matches yield much needed points and defeats in both would only increase the press speculation and gossip about the West Ham boss.
