Chris Wilder In Pole Position For Charlton After Jose Riga Resignation

Northampton Manager Chris Wilder is reported to be on the verge of being appointed Charlton Athletic Manager following the resignation of Jose Riga. The Belgian Manager left The Valley at the weekend following the defeat at home to Burnley which was the final game in a disastrous season which has seen the Addicks relegated to League One.
It is being reported that the board at Charlton have acted quickly though with Chris Wilder set to leave Northampton to make his way to London. Wilder has done a remarkable job at Northampton, leading them to the League Two title with just five defeats all season but he has decided to jump ship and move to a League One rival for next season.
The resignation of Jose Riga capped off a miserable season on and off the pitch for Charlton with the fans hugely angry about the way the club is being run. Wilder would appear to be an excellent appointment but he will be under pressure from day one at the Valley with a quick return to the Championship likely to be expected of him next term.
Riga was the third Head Coch of the season for Charlton and the fans will be desperate for Chris Wilder to steady the ship next campaign following their relegation back to League One.
As always, the reaction on social media over the weekend has been frenzied with a mixture of views on the situation;
