Time at Club:
Bolton are currently managed by Phil Parkinson, who led the Trotters straight back up to the Championship in his debut season at the helm.
Bolton had previously endured a nightmare 2015/16 campaign, suffering a whole host of off-field problems, which in the end resulted in their relegation down to League One - a division they had not played in since 1993. But Parkinson managed to turn things around and the club will now once again be playing Championship football.
Bolton enjoyed some of their best years under Sam Allardyce who managed the club between 1999 and 2007. During that time "Big Sam" led his troops into the Premier League side, before turning them into an established top-flight side, and even venturing into Europe - for the first time in the club's history - after an impressive 6th place league finish in 2004/05.
A single draw against Reading in an otherwise black and white set of results has seen Bolton Wanderers struggle for consistent results. Wins against Birmingham City & Walsall and defeats to Norwich City, Preston North End, Sheffield United, Bristol City, West Bromwich Albion, Bristol City & Hull City demonstate slightly erratic form.
