Time at Club:
Portsmouth are managed by Kenny Jackett who replaced Paul cook at Pompey after the latter switched to fellow League One side Wigan.
Former boss Cook became Pomoey boss May 2015, after he opted to make the switch from League One side Chesterfield. Cook was been tasked with improving the fortunes of the League Two outfit, and at the second attempt he led the club out of the bottom-tier.
Portsmouth have been embroiled in financial problems in recent years which has affected their performances on the pitch. In 2011/12 they were forced to go into administration for the second time in two years and as a result were deducted 10 points which has thrust them into a relegation dogfight. They were unable to recover and were relegated on 21st April. If they weren't docked points they would have survived for the drop.
Pompey endured another difficult summer in 2012, losing nearly all their players. They start the new campaign as the ante-post favourites to go down due to a 10 point deduction and in the end finished bottom of the league.
The club spent seven years in the top flight from the 03/04 season up until 09/10. They entered into administration in February 2010 which ultimately cost them their status as a Premier League side. They spent the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons in the Championship but administration returned to haunt them and they suffered a couple more relegations down to League Two.
Numerous draws but few defeats has seen Portsmouth enjoy a strong run of results. Defeats against Charlton Athletic & Queens Park Rangers are the only black marks on a run that has seen them amass wins against Scunthorpe United, Walsall, Bradford City & Bury while sharing the spoils versus Barnsley, Bristol Rovers, Southend United & Plymouth Argyle
