Time at Club:
Reading are managed by Jaap Stam who ventured into his first management position with the club in June 2016. The Royals, who have twice won promotion to the Premier League (and even finished 8th in 2006/07), will be looking for the Dutchman to steer the club up to the top-flight, something they came agonisingly close to last season.
Reading won the Championship in fine style back in 2006, finishing a whopping 16 points clear of second placed Sheffield United and 25 points ahead of third placed Watford. In their first season in the Premier League the Royals surprised everyone with an impressive 8th place finish.
However, they were unable to repeat this feat and were relegated on goal difference in 2008. The club returned in 2012 but lasted just a year back in the big time, and have remained in the Championship since 2013.
A mixed set of recent results has seen Reading collect wins versus Birmingham City & Preston North End while suffering adverse results at Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday, Fulham & Aston Villa. Draws against Cardiff City & Sunderland has seen them show mid-table form at best.
