Time at Club:
Southampton are managed by Mark Hughes who replaced Mauricio Pellegrino in the dugout on 14th March. Hughes signed a contract through to the end of the season, saved the club from relegation, then penned a new three-year deal.
Over the years Southampton have produced a number of talented young players, including Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Unfortunately, the Hampshire outfit have not been able to hold onto these stars as the lure of the Premier League's top clubs has been too strong. Although this is something the club have been determined to stop.
Former manager Nigel Adkins led the club to back-to-back promotions from League One up to the Premier League. Adkins built together a decent team who employ fast, attacking football, leading the Saints to Johnstone's Paint Trophy glory in 2010.
Southampton have a solitary win against Crystal Palace and 4 draws against Watford, Newcastle United, Bournemouth & Brighton & Hove Albion over the last 10 games to thank for earning a mediocre 7 points. Southampton have surrendered 19 goals in the process while scoring 7 to give them a poor 19 goal difference.
