Time at Club:
Stevenage are managed by Dino Maamria who took charge in March 2018.
Formed in 1976, Stevenage only managed promotion to the Football League in 2010 when they won the Conference in impressive fashion. They followed that up by dropping the 'Borough' from their name and they duly repeated the trick by gaining promotion to League One at the first time of asking. The club will no doubt be eager to stay in the third flight of English football and Gary Smith is currently charged with that responsibility.
It is well worth noting that Stevenage were the first club to win a trophy at the new Wembley Stadium, the team won the FA Trophy against Kidderminster in 2007. They face a tough task to go beyond League One but Graham Westley knows the club well and has a lot of experience.
The success of Stevenage has been somewhat of a surprise but much credit must go to the staff at Broadhill Way including manager Westley. He led them to promotion but his success led to a move to Preston in 2012 before returning just over a year later to take over the reins from the sacked Gary Smith. However, the club have sunk back down to League Two after finishing rock-bottom of the third-tier in 2013/14.
Stevenage have reaped 6 wins in the last 10 games, beating Cheltenham Town, Mansfield Town, Port Vale, Carlisle United, Grimsby Town & Swindon Town. 3 draws against Exeter City, Macclesfield Town & Milton Keynes Dons and defeats to Notts County has seen them score 19 at an average of 1.9 goals per game while shipping 9.
